In some countries, wild bees do not survive anymore and many other pollinating insects are also extinct. This is a worldwide crisis. There is an effort to maintain bee populations through drugs and sugars in some cases, these are not healthy options for a colony. Our beeswax at Purity Organic Skincare is entirely free of these additives and our bees are not even farmed, they are in wild colonies in Zambia, farmed by a co-operative of bee-keepers, so at Purity we are keenly aware of the plight of the bee.
If we could get healthy, chemical free and organic beeswax from the UK we would. This is currently not available, so by highlighting the plight of the bee we hope to increase support and awareness and in return the UK bee population.
Please support Soil Association's quest to have parliament ban the use of neonicoltinoid pesticides. Please click on the Soil Association link below and sign up to their petition to be presented to Hilary Benn, the UK's Secretary of State for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs to follow 4 other European countries and ban the use of neonicotinoids.

Here are some basic facts:
There is evidence that pesticides like neonicotinoids cause mass hive deaths, with additional causants being cited as pollution and GM crops being contributors.
Large numbers of chemical contaminants are being found in beeswax and pollen often at very high concentrations.
Italy, Germany, France and Slovenia have all banned the use of neonicoltinoids.
This is only the start of stopping the devastation. There is a long road to recovery. Here are some further solutions.
Organic farming is a solution which the Soil Association supoorts and details can be found on their site:
